Questions About Web Design

What does accessible web design per BFSG mean?

Answer

Accessibility means that as many people as possible can use your website, including people with visual, hearing or mobility impairments or those who navigate by keyboard or screen reader. In practice this means sufficient color contrast, meaningful alternative text for images, a clear structure and full operability by keyboard.

We align with the internationally recognized WCAG guidelines and the requirements of the German Accessibility Strengthening Act (BFSG), which has applied since June 2025 to many providers in electronic commerce. This improves usability for all visitors and often has a positive effect on search engines. More on this on the web design page.
