IBAN
Abbreviation for International Bank Account Number
In short and in plain language
The IBAN is the number of a bank account for transfers and direct debits.
It has the same form in many countries. It starts with a code for the country where the account is held.
If the country does not fit the provider, take care. If it fits, the bill is still not proven to be real.
Definition
The IBAN is the internationally standardised account number used for credit transfers and direct debits. It begins with the country code of the country in which the account is held. On an invoice it is worth comparing this with the provider's location, but a match alone does not prove that the invoice is genuine.
